WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The Superintendent, Vehicle Maintenance (DR) reports directly to the Senior Director Demand Response
Operations and works with CapMetro’s service provider for Access and Pickup Services to oversee daily activities
related to vehicle maintenance operations. Responsible for ensuring the fleet is maintained and meets the needs
of daily pullout for CapMetro’s Access and Pickup Services. Oversees the overall performance of the contracted
vehicle maintenance service providers and helps ensure contractual requirements and obligations are met fully.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Work closely with the service provider’s maintenance management team to ensure CapMetro’s paratransit
and micro transit vehicles are well-maintained and available for service delivery.
• Develop and govern preventative & corrective vehicle maintenance program in collaboration with the
contractor for all vehicle types in the fleet.
• Serve as a liaison between CapMetro’s Maintenance department and CapMetro’s paratransit and microtransit
service provider regarding maintenance matters.
• Manage Demand Response internal maintenance staff responsible for parts & inventory, vehicle electronics,
and vehicle maintenance training.
• Through coordination with the service provider, assess emergency situations that occur in day-to-day
operation and provides support and guidance, as deemed necessary.
• Monitor failures and work with contractor personnel to implement repair solutions to enhance the reliability of
the fleet.
• Monitor fleet condition and coordinate with the service provider to implement repair procedures to maintain
fleet to highest quality.
• Analyze breakdowns and equipment condition and works with contractor management to ensure appropriate
decisions for repair options are made.
• Monitor the performance of electronic communications equipment and coordinates solutions with the service
provider as needed.
• Consult with transportation contractors to ensure vehicle maintenance policies and practices are followed.
• Consult with equipment manufacturers and vendors on maintenance issues.
• Provide status reports to CapMetro’s executive team regarding fleet maintenance for Demand Response and
Micro Transit vehicles.
• Provide input for purchase of capital equipment.
• Support Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Safety Management Systems (SMS) process by
ensuring staff follows safety and security policies, considers safety in every action, and ensures safety and
security concerns are reported.
• Perform other position related duties as required and/or assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
• Degree in Business Administration, or related field. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for the
degree on a year-to-year basis for up to four years.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in transportation maintenance operations.
• Three (3) years supervisory experience of transit maintenance staff.
• Any A-Series, B-Series, E-Series, H-Series, P-Series, and T-Series ASE certifications preferred.
